THE FLATS – Five Georgia Tech softball student-athletes were named 2014-15 NFCA Division I All-America Scholar Athletes 2015 in graduate Karly Fullem, senior Morgan Taylor, junior Samantha Pierannunzi, and sophomores Draven Sonnon and Kendall Chadwick.
Fullem graduated in May 2015 with a degree in business administration, and throughout last season she maintained a 3.67 GPA. She started every game at first base and hit .241 with 13 runs on 35 hits, including seven doubles and six home runs for a team-best 31 RBI.
Taylor earned a 4.00 GPA through last fall and the spring season in her major of business administration. As a junior, she hit .216 with 11 hits, three doubles and a triple in 32 games played with 12 starts.
Pierannunzi is majoring in business administration and maintained a 3.61 GPA in 2014-15. She led the team with a .306 batting average, 44 hits, eight doubles and three triples as a sophomore. The Suwanee, Ga., native tied for tops on the team with 26 runs and tallied four home runs, 17 RBI and 26 walks.
Also a business administration major, Sonnon earned a 3.60 GPA during her freshman campaign. She played in 32 games with 15 starts and tallied seven runs on four hits with two RBI.
Chadwick maintained a 3.66 GPA in business administration in 2014-15. She saw action in seven games and had her first collegiate hit, an RBI-double, against Savannah State (Feb. 21).
