ATLANTA – Georgia Tech’s Steven Blackwood was named to the Academic All-District III University Division Baseball Team. The sophomore outfielder will be on the ballot for the Academic All-America team, which will be announced on Thursday, June 3.
Blackwood leads the Yellow Jackets with a .343 batting average and 16 doubles, and he ranks second on the team with 44 RBI.
Blackwood carries a 3.47 grade point average in Biology.
The Yellow Jackets are ranked 15th in the nation this week by Collegiate Baseball, and Tech is currently riding a season-long 10-game winning streak. The Jackets host No. 20 Clemson for a three-game ACC series this weekend at Russ Chandler Stadium.
