>> Georgia Tech opens its 117th season of baseball by hosting the Battle In Midtown, a round-robin tournament featuring the host Yellow Jackets, Old Dominion, Radford and VCU.
>> The Jackets are 15-5 in season openers under head coach Danny Hall and have won their last five at home on Opening Day.
>> Sophomore lefty Jonathan King is slated to be the opening-day starter, marking the first time since the 2011 season that Tech’s season-opening pitcher was not Buck Farmer.
>> The Jackets return 20 players and welcome 14 freshmen for the 2014 season. Tech’s incoming class was ranked as high as No. 9 nationally by Perfect Game.
>> The 2014 season represents Danny Hall’s 21st on the Flats and his 27th as a college head coach. He stands 12th among active Division-I coaches in winning percentage (.672), and is 14th among active coaches in number of victories (1,062).
