2016 (Redshirt Junior): Named a team co-captain prior to season … Penciled in as Tech’s Saturday starter in the preseason … Scattered four hits in 5.0 scoreless innings for the win on Feb. 20 vs. Western Michigan … Was scratched from second scheduled start minutes prior to Feb. 27 vs. UMBC … Missed the remainder of the season with an arm injury.

2015 (Redshirt Sophomore): Held down the Yellow Jackets’ Friday starter spot all season long and finished the year with 15 starts, going 4-5 overall with a 3.82 ERA … Was outstanding over the final month, allowing just four earned runs over a five-start stretch between April 17 (at Boston College) and May 14 (at No. 8 Miami), but had just two wins to show for his effort … Went five innings in his first start since March 2014 and surrendered three runs (two earned), while notching an Opening Day victory over St. John’s on Feb. 13 … Went five innings vs. No. 23 FIU in Myrtle Beach on Feb. 21, but did not factor in the decision as the Jackets won 16-9 thanks to an eight-run rally in the ninth … Pitched a gem versus Indiana State on Feb. 27 for his 10th career win, throwing six shutout innings and allowing just one hit and one walk with four strikeouts as Tech won 1-0 … Went seven strong innings versus No. 23 Notre Dame on March 6, allowing just four hits and two runs with five strikeouts, but did not factor in Tech’s 3-2 loss in 10 innings … Battled through 5.2 innings at Duke on March 13, allowing nine hits, but walking none and fanning a career-high six batters … Pitched seven innings in the series-opener vs. No. 18 North Carolina and allowed three runs … Pitched six strong innings at Boston College on April 17 and scattered five singles, but absorbed a tough 1-0 loss … Gave the Jackets 6.2 strong innings versus Clemson’s ace Matthew Crownover and allowed four hits and two runs (one earned) … Pitched a career-long 8.0 innings against Presbyterian on May 2 and improved to 3-3 on the year … Struck out five against no walks and allowed one unearned tally in the second vs. PC … Retired 12 of final 14 batters he faced against PC … Set a career-high with seven strikeouts against no walks, while holding Pitt to just three hits and one unearned run in the win on May 8 … Gave the Jackets a gutsy effort in the series-opener at No. 8 Miami on May 14, limiting the hard-hitting Hurricanes to just two runs on three hits over seven innings … Named to the All-ACC Academic Team.

2014 (Sophomore): Missed the final three months of the season after enduring a shoulder injury and earned a medical hardship waiver … Pitched two scoreless innings vs. Wake Forest in Tech’s ACC opener on March 7, but did not appear again … Finished the year with a 2-0 record and a 1.96 ERA … Fanned 12 and allowed 13 hits in abbreviated 18.1 innings of work for the year … Earned the opening-day start for the Yellow Jackets and fanned four over four innings, but did not factor in the decision during Tech’s 6-5 victory over Old Dominion … Picked up his first win of the season by throwing 5.0 shutout, one-hit innings versus UNC Greensboro on Feb. 21 with one walk and two strikeouts … Went 7.1 innings versus Bowling Green on Feb. 28 and yielded two runs on seven hits with four strikeouts for his second victory of the year.

2013 (Freshman): Enjoyed a breakout season as a rookie on The Flats … Made 24 appearances and started 10 games for the Jackets … Posted a 6-5 record with two saves to go with a 4.04 ERA in 69 innings of work … Went 3-1 in ACC play … Came out of the bullpen over the first half of the season … Was a spot-starter over the middle month of the season … His final five appearances were weekend starts, including two in the postseason … Worked a 1-2-3 ninth inning with two strikeouts in his collegiate debut to nail down a save on Opening Day in the 3-0 win over Akron … Allowed St. John’s to tie the game with two runs in the eighth inning on Feb. 23, but came back to pitch a scoreless ninth and was credited with the win as Dylan Dore hit a walk-off RBI single in the ninth … Struck out five over two innings of dominant relief work to close out Tech’s 11-4 win at Georgia Southern on Feb. 26 … Fired two perfect innings with a strikeout to close out an 11-1 win at Virginia Tech on March 9 … Tossed two efficient innings in the seventh and eighth, allowing just one hit and no runs to preserve Tech’s lead en route to a 12-5 win over Boston College on March 15 … Earned his first career start on March 26 versus The Citadel and logged a then career-best 5.0 innings, but did not factor in the decision … Fired 2.2 innings of hitless, scoreless relief and earned the victory at Duke on April 6 as the Yellow Jackets evened the series with 2-1 win — it was his first ACC decision … Recorded his second career save by retiring the final two batters of the sixth inning versus No. 5 Virginia in a series-clinching win that was shortened by rain with Tech leading 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth … Worked the first two innings on a predetermined staff day versus Savannah State on April 16 and earned the win … Pitched 2.2 innings of relief at Clemson on April 27 and earned a victory in the Jackets’ 14-9 comeback win … Gave Tech his best career start to date, working a career-best six shutout innings and matching a career-high of five strikeouts, no walks and four hits as the Jackets beat Ohio State, 9-2, on May 7 … Made his first career ACC start on May 12 versus No. 2 North Carolina, going 3.1 innings with three hits and three runs, but did not factor in the decision in Tech’s 9-8 walk-off win in the 11th inning … Matched a career-long of six innings and won for the third time in ACC play (first as starter) at Miami on May 18, pitching six shutout innings and allowing just three hits (all singles), with one walk and three strikeouts as the Jackets beat the Canes 10-1 on the final day of the regular season to avoid a sweep … Pitched a career-long 6.1 innings in first career postseason start versus Virginia Tech on May 24 in the ACC Tournament … Allowed just three runs and absorbed a tough-luck loss in the Jackets’ 3-2 setback … Pitched six solid innings in the NCAA Nashville Regional elimination game versus Illinois, allowing seven hits and two runs with four strikeouts and one walk in a no-decision — Tech scored four times in the ninth to rally for 6-3 victory … An Academic All-ACC selection.

Before Tech: Played four years of varsity baseball at Riverdale High for head coach Barry Messer … Highly-touted prep left-handed pitcher … Named the Gatorade Player of the Year in 2012 for Tennessee high school baseball … As a senior, he earned Louisville Slugger honorable mention All-America honors, all-region honors and was tabbed the District Player of the Year … Helped lead his team to the 7-AAA district championship title and Region 4 title his senior season … Was 11-1 on the mound in 2012 with a 0.65 ERA, 96 strikeouts and 17 walks … He also hit .398 with 10 home runs as a senior … Was also an all-district pick in 2011 after hitting .420 with six homers and posting a 6-2 record on the mound … Graduated with honors from Riverdale and was named the senior class’ most outstanding male student.
