The Yellow Jackets’ 56-game slate begins Friday, February 13 versus St. John’s at Russ Chandler Stadium. Tech also welcomes Fordham and Liberty on opening weekend.
The home schedule features marquee ACC match-ups versus North Carolina, Virginia, Clemson, Notre Dame and Pittsburgh, along with traditional in-state foes Georgia, Mercer, Kennesaw State and Georgia State. The ACC road slate includes Louisville, Duke, Virginia Tech, Boston College and Miami.
Tech battles Louisville and Notre Dame for the first time as conference foes, while the home-and-home series with Auburn renews a regional rivalry that dates back to 1897. The Auburn series narrowly favors the Tigers, 117-105-5, but the teams have not met since 2005. Tech and Notre Dame have not played since 1996, while the Jackets have played Louisville just three previous times.
Nine opponents played in the NCAA postseason in 2014 (Virginia, Louisville, North Carolina, Miami, Clemson, Kennesaw State, Georgia Southern, Indiana State and Liberty), with Virginia, Louisville and Kennesaw State in the Super Regionals and the Tar Heels and Cardinals reaching the College World Series.
Tech will not play Florida State, NC State and Wake Forest in league play.
Long-time rivals Georgia Tech and Georgia are set for three games — March 31 in Athens, April 14 at Russ Chandler Stadium and May 12 at Turner Field in the annual Kauffman Tire Spring Classic for Kids. The Jackets won last year’s series to mark their fourth regular-season series victory in the last five seasons.
The Yellow Jackets will defend their ninth ACC title when the ACC Championship begins May 19 at the Durham Bulls Athletics Park in Durham, N.C. NCAA Regional play begins May 29.
