Greensboro, N.C. – Georgia Tech women’s basketball senior center Sasha Goodlett was named Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Player of the Week today for her performance in the Bahamas Sunshine Shootout. This is Goodlett’s first career ACC Player of the Week accolade.
Goodlett shares the honor with North Carolina’s Chay Shegog who scored 19 points, and added seven rebounds and seven blocks in the Tar Heels’ win over East Carolina.
Goodlett led Georgia Tech to a 2-0 week at the Bahamas Sunshine Shootout with wins over SIU-Edwardsville and Central Arkansas. She earned tournament MVP honors after leading the Yellow Jackets with 17.0 points per game and five rebounds an outing in Nassau.
In the 67-61 win over Central Arkansas, Goodlett finished with a career-high 23 points and scored her 1,000th career point in the first half, becoming just the 25th Jacket to score 1,000 career points. Goodlett has scored in double digits the last five games, and six of the last seven.
