THE FLATS – Georgia Tech track & field will compete at the 2022 ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships from Feb. 24-26 in Blacksburg, Va.
The Yellow Jackets will see their first action on the Feb. 24 when the distance medley relay teams take to the track, the first field events will be on Feb. 25 with the men’s high jump and the final events will be the 3000m and the 4x400m relays.
The women’s team has some notable ACC times and marks from Sheleah Harris (7.51, 60m, 12th), Nicole Fegans (4:36.55, mile, third; 9:09.42, 3000m, 10th; 15:42.73, 5000m, fifth), Mary Kathryn Knott (16:45.50, 5000m, 19th), Taylor Grimes (8.33, 60 hurdles, third; 5.96m, long jump, 10th), Shanty Papakosta (1.80m, high jump, T-3rd), Carla Du Plessis (1.71m, high jump, 14th) and Olivia Moore (4.19m, pole vault, seventh).
The men’s team features several top ACC performers as well in Alex Thomas (1:49.67, 800m, 11th), McKinley Thompson (1.98m, high jump, 12th), Matthew Mazzacano (4.65m, pole vault, T-17th), Cameron O’Neal (7.44m, long jump, 15th) and John Watkins (14.77m, triple jump, 17th).
Following this meet, the next action for the White and Gold will be in Birmingham, Ala. for the 2022 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.
