THE FLATS – Nearly 150 Georgia Tech student-athletes took part in the sixth annual Georgia Tech Athletic Association Career Event Monday night. The student-athlete career reception bridges Tech student-athletes with several companies from various industries offering internships and career opportunities, while providing the student-athletes networking opportunities beyond the playing surface.
The career event is a culmination of month-long ‘Market-Ready’ initiatives as part of the Georgia Tech Total Person Program that included business card creation, resume building and workshops. The event is designed to help student-athletes secure jobs and internships of the coming year as well as prepare student-athletes for the job interview process. Student-athletes were also given the opportunity to take a professional headshot at the event.
Taking place in the Gordy Room in the Wardlaw Center, the event kicked off with Georgia Tech women’s basketball head coach MaChelle Joseph presenting the companies with the highly-sought after skills Georgia Tech student-athletes possess and a welcome address from athletic director Todd Stansbury.
