TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Georgia Tech’s doubles tandems of Elizabeth Kilborn and Lynn Blau and Muriel Wacker and Rocio Lopez each earned a victory Saturday on the second day of competition at the Seminoles Quad Tournament.
Playing in the doubles gold bracket, Kilborn and Blau opened the day with an 8-2 win over South Florida’s Ecaterina Vasenina and Irene Rehberger. In the second round, Auburn’s duo of Jaqueline Kasler and Paulina Schippers proved to be too much for the Yellow Jackets in an 8-4 defeat.
Lopez and Wacker, playing the doubles white bracket, also won their opening match, 8-3, over Olivia Bennett and Maria Arechavaleta of Auburn. In the duo’s second match of the day, Auburn’s Plamena Kurteva and Taylor Schreimann earned an 8-5 victory.
The Yellow Jackets will conclude play at the Seminoles Quad Tournament Sunday. Results will be posted at the end of the day.
