The Georgia Tech women’s basketball team (1-1) will complete it’s three-game season-opening homestand when the Yellow Jackets host the Marquette Golden Eagles (1-0) at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at McCamish Pavilion.
Georgia Tech will be collecting new, unwrapped toys to be donated to the Atlanta Children’s Shelter as part of the Michael Isenhour Toy Drive sponsored by the Georgia Tech Student-Athlete Advisory Board. Any fans who bring a toy can buy a ticket for just $2.
In Tech’s 80-51 win over Kennesaw State on Nov. 13, junior Tyaunna Marshall scored her 1,000th career point on a putback in the first half. Marshall became the 26th Jacket with 1,000 career points and just the 10th to reach the milestone before her senior season in the Gold and White. Two days later, the Upper Marlboro, Md., native was named to the Naismith Award’s preseason watch list in addition to being selected to the Wooden Award preseason Top 30 watch list Nov. 9.
This is only the second meeting between Tech and Marquette after the Jackets’ 74-63 win at the Bradley Center, home of the NBA’s Bucks, in Milwaukee. Then-freshman Sydney Wallace made her first career start last year at Marquette.
