RALEIGH, N.C. (Feb. 24) – Freshman Amy Lingenfelder scored a game-high 14 points and junior Candice McCallum added 12 to lead Georgia Tech to a 69-52 upset of 14th-ranked NC State Thursday night at Reynolds Coliseum.

The Yellow Jackets (13-12 overall, 6-9 ACC) led by 22 points early in the second half and held off the Wolfpack (20-7 overall, 11-5 ACC) down the stretch. With the win, Tech snapped a three-game losing streak and handed NC State its third-straight setback.

The 14th-ranked Wolfpack marks the highest ranked opponent the Jackets have defeated on the road in school history.

Tech senior Danielle Donehew hit three three-pointers during a 19-0 run during an 8:02 span of the first half. The Tech spurt was part of a larger 29-8 run the Jackets used to close the first half and take a 40-20 lead at halftime.

McCallum gave the Jackets its largest lead at 22 on a basket with 14:05 to play. From there, the Wolfpack used a 21-6 run to close to within seven at 55-48 with 7:02 to play. The Jackets righted themselves from there, and closed the game on a 14-4 run.

Ivy Gardner led the Wolfpack with 13 points, and Amy Simpson added 10.

Georgia Tech closes out its regular season at home against Maryland at 2 p.m. Sunday.
