Williams Qualifies for NCAA Championships at NCAA East Prelims

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Georgia Tech track and field wrapped up competition at the NCAA East Preliminaries on Saturday with sophomore Jeanine Williams qualifying for the women’s 100m hurdles semifinals.

Williams raced the fourth-best time of the day in the women’s 100m hurdles, punching her ticket to the semifinals in Eugene, Oregon. Her third-place finish in her heat earned her an automatic qualification into the semifinals. She raced a time of 13.09 in the quarterfinals. She posted a time of 13.35 and the 10th-best time in the first round to earn her spot in the quarterfinals.

William Solomon was the sole competitor on the men’s side on Saturday. He competed in the triple jump. He leapt to a mark of 14.82m but it was not enough to advance to Eugene.

Williams and Avery Bartlett will represent Georgia Tech at the NCAA Championships in Eugene June 7-9. Bartlett qualified for the men’s 800m semifinals on Friday with the third-best time overall.
