GREENSBORO, N.C. – After leading her team to a perfect 4-0 record last week, including a sweep of NC State, senior Kelsi Weseman has been named the ACC Player of the Week. The award is her second of the season and third of her career.
Weseman hit .625 last week (5-for-8) and had an on-base percentage of .800 to lead Georgia Tech in both categories. The Hutto, Tex., native hit two home runs, knocked in four, and scored seven runs. She walked five times without striking out as the Jackets improved to 23-16 and 6-3 in ACC play.
Two of Weseman’s five hits went out of the park as she slugged an impressive 1.375 on the week.
In conference play, Weseman batted .571 accumulating four of her five hits, including one of the homeruns, three of the four RBIs, five of her seven runs, a slugging percentage of 1.000 and an on base percentage of .750.
Weseman and the rest of the Yellow Jackets are back in action at Kennesaw State on Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
