ATLANTA – Georgia Tech standout Tyler Greene was named the Wendy’s Georgia Tech Student-Athlete of the Week for Monday, May 9, 2005.
Greene, a junior from Plantation, Fla., hit .583 (7-for-12) with two home runs in three games against Florida Atlantic over the weekend, leading the Yellow Jackets to a series victory. Greene added a double, scored five runs, walked three times, and stole two bases. The junior shortstop posted a .667 on base percentage and a 1.167 slugging percentage. He went 2-for-3 with a home run and a double in Tech’s 5-4, 10-inning victory on Friday night. He followed that with a 4-for-5 performance on Saturday, including his second home run of the series, and scored three runs. For the season, Greene is batting .340 with nine home runs and 50 RBI. He is 25-for-26 in stolen base attempts.
