THE FLATS – On the first day of Vanderbilt University’s Commodore Invite, Georgia Tech men’s tennis earned two wins behind the efforts of Andres Martin and Rohan Sachdev.
Martin and Sachdev defeated Illinois, 8-4, in the doubles quarterfinals and will face UT Austin in the semifinals. Martin went on to claim a victory over South Carolina’s James Story in the first round of singles play. He got ahead with a 6-1 win in the first set and came out on top with a 6-3 finish in the third set. Both athletes will continue competition at Vanderbilt on Saturday, Sept. 23, starting with the doubles semifinals at 9 a.m.
