Twenty-Five Jackets Named to All-ACC Honor Roll

ATLANTA – Twenty-five members of the Georgia Tech women’s track & field team were named to the Atlantic Coast Conference Honor Roll announced by the league office on Wednesday. NCAA All-Americans, senior Brandy Depland and junior Ashlee Kidd, led the way for the Yellow Jackets.

In addition to Depland and Kidd, athletes named include Camelia Andrews, Kira Barcus, Mary Chind, Alana Clooten, Kirby Cross, Natalie Darraugh, Jill Davis, Barbie Daymude, Raehard Dillard, Sheila Eshraghi, Maria Hampton, Ashley Keck, Veronica Kinard, Nisha Kurian, Adriane Lapsley, Elena Linn, Theresa Mahfood, Jenny Sims, Mellany Stanislaus, Alex Van Heuven, Lindsey Vincent, Jewel Welsch and Emily Yandle.

The ACC Academic Honor Roll, now in its 50th year, is comprised of all ACC student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a grade point average of 3.0 or better for the full academic year.

Depland, a three-time All-American in the triple jump, set the school record in the indoor triple jump earlier this year with a personal-record of 44 feet, 9 ¾ inches. She qualified for her second straight NCAA Outdoor Championships as an at-large selection.

Kidd, a six-time All-American, earned her sixth nod with a personal-record time of 51.57 in the finals of the 400-meter dash at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. She recently won a Gold medal at the NACAC Under 23 Championships as part of the USA 4x400m relay team that set a new meet record with a time of 3:29.05. Kidd broke the ACC Indoor Championship records in the 200- and 400-meter dash with school record times of 23.37 and 52.61, respectively and was named the ACC Indoor MVP.

Three-time honorees include seniors Deymude, Depland and Welch and junior Chind. Senior Kira Barcus is the lone four-time honoree.
