Track & Field Travels to Meyo Invitational

Feb. 2, 2017

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech track and field travels to South Bend, Ind. this weekend, Feb. 3-4, to compete at the Meyo Invitational hosted by Notre Dame.

Friday’s competition is slated to start at 3:30 p.m. ET with the women’s long jump. Action resumes Saturday morning at 9:45 a.m. with the women’s 60-meter hurdles prelims.

The meet is a chance for the Yellow Jackets to compete at the Meyo Track before it serves as the host site for the 2017 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships from Feb. 23-25.

Tech had a successful outing last weekend at the Bob Pollock Invitational hosted by Clemson. Sophomore Ryan Peck grabbed a first-place finish for the Jackets in the 5000m run, while William Solomon matched his career-best mark in the long jump on his way to a second-place finish.

Senior hurdler Kenya Collins continued to perform for the Jackets, posting her fourth top-three finish of the season in the 60m hurdles with a third-place finish. Ksenia Novikova recorded a career-best in the pole vault in her fourth-place finish, leading the Jackets in the field events.
