Tech's Zach Von Tersch Tabbed ACC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech sophomore Zach Von Tersch has been named the ACC Baseball Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference office Monday afternoon

The Cedar Falls, Iowa, native earned his first league recognition after guiding Tech to a shutout victory against Rutgers in the series finale Sunday afternoon. In the process, Von Tersch picked up his first career victory while helping Tech to a 2-1 series win against the Scarlet Knights.

Von Tersch tossed 7.0 innings, holding Rutgers hitters to three hits while striking out seven and walking two. He faced 24 batters and allowed just two runners past first base in the victory.

The 19th-ranked Yellow Jackets will return to action this Tuesday when they host Western Carolina and former Georgia Tech associate head coach Bobby Moranda on Tuesday at 4 p.m. before squaring off against Kennesaw State Wednesday at 4 p.m. The Jackets will open ACC play this weekend against Virginia Tech.
