Tech's Montrell Person Named ACC Indoor Track & Field Performer of the Week

ATLANTA – Junior Montrell Person was named Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week after leading the Georgia Tech men’s track and field team at the Kentucky Invitational last weekend.

Person broke a school record at the indoor meet in the 60-meter hurdles when he recorded an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 7.50 to finish fifth in the event. He bested his own school record set in 2001 (8.08).

The Merriville, Ind., native also posted a season-best time of 6.90 in the 60-meter dash to lead the Yellow Jackets.

Tech will resume action next week in Clemson, S.C., for the Clemson Invitational Saturday, Jan. 24.
