ATLANTA – Georgia Tech senior Lyndsay Shosho and sophomore Kristi Miller were named to the 2006 all-Atlantic Coast Conference team, as announced by the conference office Wednesday morning.
The two Yellow Jackets standouts have led Tech to 18 wins during the regular season, including nine in ACC matches, as well as the No. 1 seed in this week’s ACC Championships. Tech is currently ranked 10th in the nation, according to the latest Fila/ITA Rankings.
Both Shosho and Miller are earning their second all-ACC honor, as Miller racked up all-ACC and ACC Rookie of the Year honors in 2005 while Shosho was a 2004 all-conference honoree.
Miller is currently leading the team with 33 singles wins on the season, while Shosho has a Tech-record 31 doubles victories in 2006. The tandem currently form the nation’s No. 9 doubles team, while Miller is the country’s top-ranked singles player, with Shosho standing 60th in the rankings.
The Yellow Jackets will begin ACC Tournament play Friday at 9 a.m. when they face the winner of Thursday’s 9 a.m. match between Maryland and NC State. Livestats for all of Georgia Tech’s ACC Tournament matches will be available at www.ramblinwreck.com.
