Tech's Hosier and Sallinger Named Easton All-America

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech’s Jessica Sallinger and Amy Hosier were named to the 2005 Easton All-America teams, announced on June 14. Sallinger was selected to the second team, while Hosier earned third team honors.

Sallinger, a senior from Kennesaw, Ga., led the Yellow Jackets in the circle with a 28-9 record. She finished the season with a single-season school record 16 shutouts and 373 strikeouts. Sallinger finished her career as the ACC’s all-time strikeout leader (1378) and winningest pitcher (109). She was named to the NFCA All-America third team for the second consecutive season and was tabbed ACC Pitcher of the Year and Tournament MVP.

Hosier, a junior from Lakewood, Colo., led Tech with 39 runs batted in and hit .356 for the season. She tallied 12 doubles, two home runs and carried a .467 on base percentage on the season. Hosier earned All-ACC first team honors and all-tournament honors for the Yellow Jackets.
