Sept. 30, 2004

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech women’s basketball has launched its 2004-05 community outreach program, “Buzzing Through the Community,” which targets the Metro-Atlanta area. In an effort to establish Georgia Tech as Atlanta’s hometown team, the Georgia Tech women’s basketball team and coaches will be visiting various schools and civic organizations in Atlanta on a weekly basis throughout the school year.

The program is designed to assist in developing the knowledge and leadership skills necessary to help Atlanta’s youth achieve future success in life, and the visits by the women’s basketball team and coaches consists primarily of discussions and sports-related activities that introduce youth to the positive aspects of intercollegiate athletics, higher education and work values.
