Tech Women Compete on First Day of ACC Championships

The Jackets’ 800 free relay team had their best race of the season as they tallied a time of 7:33.25 to best their previous season-best mark of 7:39.24 by almost six seconds to finish eighth in the race in the first day of competition at the Women’s ACC Championships. The meet is taking place at the University of Maryland’s Campus Recreation Center in College Park, Md. Vesna Stojanovska, Elizabeth Stowe, Mari McLeod, and Caroline Jones competed in the race for Tech.

In the second event of the day, the women’s 200 medley relay team of Ashley Kracke, Alison Walker, Meghan DeVinney, and Natanya Harper also swam a season-best time of 1:45.33 to beat their previous season-best time of 1:48.47.

The Jackets will compete all day tomorrow as the morning’s events begin at 11 a.m. and doors open for spectators at 10.
