Tech Sweeps Hofstra in Doubleheader

 THE FLATS – Georgia Tech softball (13-6) swept Hofstra (2-10) on day two of the I-75 Challenge, taking the first game 8-1 before completing the sweep with a 2-1 win in game two.

Game 1: Georgia Tech 8, Hofstra 1

Sophomore Skye Webb puts the Jackets on the board first in the bottom of the first, sending a two-RBI single down the left field line, scoring sophomore Breanna Roper and senior Katie Krzus.

 

Krzus makes it 4-0 with a home run over center field in the bottom of the second.

In the next at bat, sophomore Tricia Awald follows up with another home run over left field, bringing the score to 5-0.

 

Junior Crosby Huckabay knocked a home run out of left field in the bottom of the fourth to bring the score to 6-1.

Game 2: Georgia Tech 2, Hofstra 1

The Yellow Jackets close out the I-75 Challenge on Sunday, March 3, hosting a single game with Western Carolina at 9 a.m. on ACC Network Extra.
