THE FLATS — On Tuesday, the Georgia Tech Athletic Association hosted the fifth annual GTAA Career Fair, presenting student-athletes with the opportunity to look beyond the playing surface. The GTAA Career Fair bridges Tech student-athletes with several companies from various industries offering internships and career opportunities.
The career fair is the culmination of month-long market ready initiatives as part of the Georgia Tech Total Person Program that included business card creation, resume building and workshops. Over 190 student-athletes attended the two-plus hour event in the Edge Center that featured 12 companies. The event is designed to help student-athletes secure jobs and internships for the coming year as well as prepare student-athletes for the job interview process. Student-athletes were also given the opportunity to take a professional headshot at the event.
The 12 companies in attendance at Tuesday’s career fair were:
AT&T
Atlanta Hawks
Cox Communications
CSE
Ernst & Young
General Motors
Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI)
RayBiotech
Southern Company
Ultimate Software
