THE FLATS – Georgia Tech softball and head coach Aileen Morales have announced the complete 2026 schedule which includes 30 home games and four ACC series at Mewborn Field. The Yellow Jackets will host two home tournaments, split by one road tournament, before opening the 2026 ACC slate, at home, against Notre Dame.
Tech’s 2026 schedule includes matches against top-ranked contenders from 2025 including No. 7 Florida, No. 9 Florida State, No. 11 Clemson, No. 14 Alabama, No. 17 Georgia, No. 20 Virginia Tech, No. 21 Duke, and No. 23 Mississippi State. The Jackets will take on participants from the 2025 NCAA Tournament including six from the Regional round, one from the Super Regional round, and two from the Women’s College World Series.
Schedule Highlights
- Tech begins the 2026 season hosting the 27th Annual Buzz Classic, featuring Villanova, Alabama, and ECU Feb. 5-8.
- The Yellow Jackets host their first midweek clash the following Tuesday, Feb. 10, against Kennesaw State.
- Georgia Tech will pack the bus for Florida to compete in its lone road tournament of the season against Florida, FIU, and Marshall Feb. 13-15.
- Tech returns home to serve as one host of the I-75 Tournament Feb. 19-22 which will feature six games at Mewborn Field, against four different opponents (College of Charleston, Georgia State University, Purdue, and Yale).
- The Yellow Jackets will host Mississippi State in a midweek match up before opening their ACC slate at home against Notre Dame Feb. 28- Mar. 1.
- The remainder of the season will see Tech host eight midweek contests against Troy (Mar. 3), UAB (Mar. 10), West Georgia (Mar. 24), Georgia State (Mar. 25), Mercer (Apr. 1), Jacksonville State (Apr. 7), Georgia Southern (Apr. 15), and Furman (Apr. 22). Tech will play only one more non-conference road contest against Georgia (Mar. 18).
- Tech’s first road ACC series will take place in South Carolina against Clemson (Mar. 6-8) and will quickly be followed by another ACC road series against Virginia (Mar. 13-15).
- Following the back-to-back road series, Tech will welcome Duke to Mewborn Field (Mar. 20-22) before heading back out to take on Louisville (Mar. 27-29).
- The Yellow Jackets will host the Eagles of Boston College Apr. 3-5 before using their bye weekend to travel north-west to Iowa to take on Iowa and South Dakota State (Apr. 10-12).
- Tech will close out its conference road slate Apr. 17-19 against Virginia Tech before finishing the season at home against Florida State (Apr. 24-26).
Return of the Jackets
Tech softball is set to return a core group for the 2026 season including infielders Gracyn Tucker and Addison Leschber along with outfielders Alyssa Willer and Paige Vukadinovich. In the circle, Tech fans can anticipate seeing the return of Makayla Coffield and Sydnie Watts as well as Reese Hunter behind the plate. The Jackets return to play following the 2025 season where Tech had three top-25 wins, including its first top-15 win since 2012, and punched its ticket to the NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2022. Ahead of the 2026 season, Tech softball has added nine freshman and four transfers, two from JMU, one from Kennesaw State, and even one from ACC opponent Cal.
Morales returns for her ninth season on The Flats in 2025-2026 as assistant coaches Erin Dixson returns for her third season overseeing the pitching staff and Deven Boland resumes his assistant coach position, focusing on the Jackets’ hitting. Assistant coach Megan Hill returns for her second season serving as the program’s point of contact for recruiting, as does Mya Knuteson, who assumes the role of Director of Operations for the Yellow Jackets.
