Atlanta – Georgia Tech softball is set to play in the NFCA Leadoff Classic this weekend in Columbus, Ga. The Yellow Jackets will face Michigan and Southern Illinois on Friday at 5 p.m. and 7:30 respectively before taking on South Carolina on Saturday at 10 a.m. Bracket play for the tournament is scheduled to begin Saturday afternoon, with semifinals and finals on Sunday.

The 13/15th-ranked Yellow Jackets tied a school record with their 13th-straight win last Sunday, defeating Evansville, 1-0, in the title game of the Lady Panther Invitational. Tech will try and set a new school record against No. 8 Michigan in the opening game for the Jackets of the NFCA Leadoff Classic by starting the season 14-0. The Jackets are hitting .313 as a team and are outscoring their opponents 72-14 during the 13-game winning streak.

Tech is currently ranked 13th according to the ESPN.com Top 25 poll and 15th in the latest NFCA rankings. The rankings mark the highest softball rankings in Georgia Tech history.
