Tech Softball Returns Home To Face Eastern Michigan

ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech softball team will look to extend it current three-game win streak on Tuesday morning when it faces Eastern Michigan in a doubleheader beginning at 10 a.m. at Glenn Field.

The Yellow Jackets (9-6) recorded three wins on the first day of the rain-shortened Georgia State Invitational, as they defeated Campbell 12-2 in a five-inning game, then came from behind to down host Georgia State 10-7, and finished the day with a victory over Tuesday’s foe Eastern Michigan by a 3-0 count.

Tech recorded four home runs on the day, including three in the Campbell game, and another in the Georgia State contest. Lindsay Wood, Tasha Waugh and Tara Knudsen led the Jackets’ offensive onslaught, as the trio batted over .500 on the weekend and accounted for 18 RBI in the tournament. Waugh started the Campbell game with home runs in each of her first two at bats, and Wood later added her first home run of the year with a grand slam that ensured the win for Tech.

The Jackets will take to the road again this weekend as they travel to Tampa, Fla., to compete in the Speedline Invitational, hosted by South Florida. Tech’s schedule is highlighted by a game against sixth-ranked Stanford on Saturday.
