ATLANTA (July 13) – Leigh Baker, who has spent the past six and a half years in charge of ticket operations on the college level and in the NBA, has been named director of ticket operations for the Georgia Tech Athletic Association.
Baker, a native of Mexia, Texas, comes to Tech from the University of Washington, where she served three years as the director of ticketing for the athletics department.
“Leigh has made a quick rise through the ranks in her area of expertise,” said Tech director of athletics Dave Braine. “We’re pleased that she has come cross country to bring her experience to Georgia Tech.”
Prior to her time at Washington, Baker was the ticket operations director for the Seattle Supersonics from January of 1995 to June of 1997, and ticket office manager for the San Antonio Spurs from December of 1993 to December of 1995.
“This is a great opportunity for me, career-wise,” said Baker. “I’m excited to be a part of the great Georgia Tech athletic tradition.”
She earned a bachelor of arts degree in history in 1990 from Texas A&M, and a master’s degree in recreation from the same university in 1992. She served an internship in the Texas A&M ticket office while pursuing her studies.
