>> Having won eight of its last 10 and cracking the Top 25 for the first time this season, No. 23 Georgia Tech hosts a red-hot Mercer team Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Russ Chandler Stadium.
>> The Yellow Jackets are unbeaten in their last three midweek games and have claimed series wins in back-to-back weekends over then-No. 22 Miami and No. 13 North Carolina — the first time since 2006 that Tech has won consecutive series from Top 25 teams.
>> Mercer is 19-6 overall, 5-1 in the Atlantic Sun and receiving votes in the latest NCBWA poll. The Bears have won five straight.
>> Tech is fourth in the ACC with a .290 team average, boasting a balanced attack with seven players hitting .290+ and already 34 sacrifice bunts or flies – more than half of last year’s total.
>> The last 11 wins for the Yellow Jackets have all been in comeback fashion, thanks in part to a bullpen that has pitched to a 1.90 ERA and a .191 opponent average over those 11 wins.
>> Connor Justus and Daniel Spingola bring nine-game hitting streaks into tonight’s game. Those two streaks are tied for the third-longest in the ACC. Thomas Smith has reached safely in 18 straight.
