CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Georgia Tech women’s basketball team will close out its regular season schedule with a trip to Virginia Sunday afternoon. Tip-off at the John Paul Jones Arena is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Tech fans can listen to all the action on WREK radio (91.1 FM/www.wrek.org), Georgia Tech women’s basketball’s flagship station. The game will also be available on ACC Select.
The two teams will meet for the 59th time with the Cavaliers holding a commanding 49-9 advantage over the Yellow Jackets. Tech is only 1-24 all-time in Charlottesville with its only win coming in 2001. Last season, the Jackets defeated the Wahoos, 73-49, at Alexander Memorial Coliseum.
Tech will try to win its 22nd game for the first time since joining the ACC before the 1979-80 season. Tech needs two victories to match the school record of 23 wins set in 1977-78.
The Jackets will next travel to Greensboro, N.C. for the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament on Mar. 3-6. The ACC will announce the pairings for next week’s tournament following the Duke vs. North Carolina game Sunday evening.
