The Georgia Tech cheerleaders earned fourth place at the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Chick-Fil-A Cheer and Dance Championships, held held Mar. 31-April 4 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Louisville took home the title, while Houston and NC State tied for second place.
The Championships will be televised on a tape-delay basis on CBS (WGCL in Atlanta) on Saturday, Apr. 17 at 2 p.m., with the top five Division 1 Cheer and Dance Teams in the nation featured on the show.
Tech junior Mary Melissa Bailey and senior King Harrison made it to the Partner Stunt Finals through an earlier video preliminary round. They finished ninth out of the 20 couples chosen to compete.
There was also a Mascot competition in which the top five mascots from around the country were chosen from a video preliminary. Georgia Tech’s Buzz placed second to the Missouri mascot, Truman the Tiger.
