Tech Adds Alabama to Future Schedules

Sept. 20, 2005

ATLANTA–Georgia Tech and Alabama have scheduled a home-and-home football series in 2012 and 2014, the two schools announced Tuesday.

Tech will play the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa in 2012, and then Alabama will play in Atlanta at Bobby Dodd Stadium/Grant Field in 2014.

The former Southeastern Conference rivals last played in 1984, when the Yellow Jackets defeated 19th-ranked Alabama, 16-6, in Atlanta. The Crimson Tide leads the series, 28-21-3.

In addition to Tech’s annual game against Georgia, other non-conference opponents on the Yellow Jackets’ future schedules include Notre Dame (home in 2006, away in 2007), Army (home in 2007, away in 2008), and Mississippi (home in 2010, away in 2011).
