Swedish National Women's Basketball Team Member Signs with Tech

ATLANTA (Nov. 10) – Jasmina Pacariz, a 6-foot-1 shooting guard from Stockholm, Sweden, signed a national letter of intent with Georgia Tech Wednesday, Yellow Jacket head coach Agnus Berenato announced.

Pacariz represented her country on the Swedish National Team that competed in the World Championships this past July. She currently plays for Alvik Stockholm Team and attends Hagalundsskolan School in Solna, Sweden. She is averaging 15 points and 10 rebounds per game.

“Jasmina is a terrific three-point shooter and is very good defensively,” Berenato said. “She gives us added size and can play in the post. She can handle the ball and has very good court sense. I also like the international experience she will bring to our team.”

Pacariz is Tech”s second signee from Sweden in as many years. The Jackets signed Nina Brlin, a 5-9 point guard from Trdgardsgaten, Sweden last year. Pacariz and Brlin were teammates and started together on the Swedish National Team during the summer.

“I am very excited about attending Georgia Tech,” Pacariz said. “I really liked the coaching staff and team which made my decision easy. It will also be fun playing with Nina again.”
