March 29, 2005

ATLANTA – No. 21 Georgia Tech (32-7) is 19-3 in the month of March and will step out of conference play on Wednesday, March 30, for a 5 p.m. doubleheader against Chattanooga (28-11) at Jim Frost Stadium.

Tech has won six straight after an Atlantic Coast Conference sweep over then-No. 24 Florida State last weekend and the Lady Mocs are riding a 13-game winning streak.

The Yellow Jackets continue to lead the ACC in batting average (.300), runs scored (204), RBI (174), slugging percentage (.395), on base percentage (.383), stolen bases (102) and fielding percentage (.975).

The Rambling Wreck has set or tied three school records already this season; stolen bases, stolen bases in a game (7) and tied a school record with 13 straight wins to start the season.

Tech holds a 7-4 advantage in the series with the Lady Mocs, including a two-game sweep this year in the season opener for both teams at Glenn Field, 6-0 and 8-0 (5).

Senior Jessica Sallinger tossed her seventh career no-hitter against Chattanooga in the opener, striking out 10, and sophomore Sarah Wood and freshman Whitney Humphreys combined for a shutout in the nightcap. Junior Christine Sheridan hit two home runs in consecutive at bats in game two and sophomore Kristina Hull smacked a grand slam to supply the offense for the Jackets.
