GREENSBORO, N.C. – Following a standout senior campaign on The Flats, Georgia Tech volleyball senior Gabriela Stavnetchei was tabbed to the all-Atlantic Coast Conference first team as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Stavnetchei, an outside hitter from Curitiba, Brazil, had the best season of her career. Stavnetchei led the ACC in total kills since September, finishing the season with 467 and ranking 35th in the nation. Averaging 4.35 kills per set in league matches, she led in that statistic for conference matches and third in points per set at 4.63.
Stavnetchei contributed on the defensive side of the ball as well, ranking second on the team in digs with 321 behind freshman libero Sam Knapp. She recorded 15 double-doubles this season and a career-high 28 kills against Syracuse on Oct. 20. She was tabbed to the preseason all-ACC team in the beginning of the season. She was named to both the Hyatt Regency Invitational and Georgia Tech Invitational all-tournament teams.
