>> After winning six of seven games at home to open the season, No. 20 Georgia Tech hits the road for the first time with a two-game midweek series at Georgia Southern.
>> The two-game set is underway Tuesday at 7 p.m. and concludes Wednesday at 6 p.m. Both games can be heard live on WREK 91.1 FM in Atlanta with Nolan Alexander and Wade Rogers.
>> Freshman Matt Gonzalez drove in nine of Tech’s 36 runs last week and his 13 RBI lead the team and rank second in the ACC. He has already recorded a trio of three-games in 2013.
>> Junior Daniel Palka carries a six-game hitting streak into the week and his .500 average is currently second in the ACC. He has scored in five of Tech’s seven games this season.
>> Georgia Southern is 4-2 after taking two of three from Georgia to open the season, winning in extra innings at Florida last week and splitting a two-game weekend set with Indiana.
>> Tech leads the all-time series with the Eagles 91-29 and has won eight of the last 10. The Jackets are 39-14 versus the Eagles in Statesboro.
>> The Ramblin’ Wreck lead the ACC with a .328 batting average and four Jackets currently rank among the top 14 in hitting in the league.
