Statements On The Passing Of Henry (Hank) McCamish

July 11, 2013

Henry (Hank) Franklin McCamish, Jr., a loyal graduate, friend and generous supporter of Georgia Tech since graduating from the Institute in 1950, passed away June 30th.

Georgia Tech President Dr. G.P. “Bud” Peterson, athletic director Mike Bobinski, men’s basketball coach Brian Gregory and women’s basketball coach MaChelle Joseph all shared these sentiments:

Dr. Peterson
“Hank McCamish has been a loyal friend of Georgia Tech since he graduated with highest honors in 1950. Personally, I feel honored to have had the chance to know him. On behalf of the entire Georgia Tech community, we are grateful for his generosity with his time, talents and resources. Georgia Tech is a better institution, today and for future generations, because of Hank McCamish.”

Mike Bobinski
“Hank McCamish leaves an amazing legacy, and we’re honored to be a part of it. He was generous in many ways over the years, and I know that the experiences of our student-athletes, coaches and staff over many generations are better because of Hank McCamish. The impact he made on our campus, as well as our community, is an inspiration to all of us. We extend our deepest condolences to Margaret and the entire McCamish family.”

Brian Gregory
“I can’t express how grateful we are to have had Hank McCamish as part of the Georgia Tech family. When our student-athletes see his name on McCamish Pavilion, it’s a powerful reminder of this great Tech man and what he’s done for his alma mater and city. Our program feels this loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”

MaChelle Joseph
“There aren’t enough words to describe Hank McCamish’s support of Georgia Tech. He’s done so much for our school, our athletic programs and the community. We’re proud to play in McCamish Pavilion, and I know our student-athletes, present and future, feel his impact. It’s tough to lose someone who has been such a good friend and supporter of Georgia Tech.”
