TEAM NOTES
• Georgia Tech has won back-to-back ACC games for the first time since March 4 and 8, 2014 when they closed the regular season with wins over No. 7 Syracuse and Virginia Tech. The Jackets have not won three straight regular season ACC games since the 2007-08 season, but have won three in a row counting a tournament game three times in that period.
• Tech defeated a top-25 team for the second time this season, the first time the Jackets have accomplished that since the 2009-10 season. Tech is 2-4 against top-25 opposition this season.
• Tech is in 11th place, a half-game behind Florida State and one game behind Virginia Tech, in the ACC standings. The Jackets must leap over one of those teams to avoid playing on Tuesday at the ACC Tournament. They hold a tiebreaker over FSU, but lose a potential tiebreaker with Virginia Tech.
• Tech improved to 11-5 at home, percentage-wise its best home record under Brian Gregory, and the 11 wins match the 2012-13 team for most under Gregory. The Jackets have not had a better home record since going 14-2 in 2009-10.
• Tech led at the half for the eighth time in 14 ACC games this season (37-30), and for the 18th time this season. The Yellow Jackets are 11-6 when leading at the half.
• Tech utilized the same starting lineup it put on the floor at Florida State — Marcus Georges-Hunt, Adam Smith and Quinton Stephens on the perimeter, Nick Jacobs and Charles Mitchell in the post — and have won both games it has played with that lineup. The Yellow Jackets have utilized seven different starting fives this season. Marcus Georges-Hunt is now the only Yellow Jacket to start every game this season.
• Tech outscored Notre Dame in every specialty category – in the paint (40-32), off turnovers (14-9), on second-chance points (20-17), in transition (6-0) and from the bench (9-7). The Jackets have done that only one other time against an ACC team this season (Virginia Tech). Tech almost did at NC State, but points off turnovers were even.
• Tech committed just seven turnovers, the 12th time this season and sixth time in ACC play the Yellow Jackets had fewer than 10. Tech ranks fifth in the ACC and came in 16th nationally at 10.4 per game (10.3 in conference games). Nationally, the Jackets have improved from 195th in the nation last year. Tech took 10 turnovers from Notre Dame.
• Tech took 14 offensive rebounds but converted them into 20 points, the most second-chance points for the Yellow Jackets since they scored 20 at Pittsburgh on Jan. 6.
• Overall, Tech out-rebounded Notre Dame, 37-32, for the game. The Yellow Jackets have out-rebounded 22 of their 27 opponents, with two ties, this season; and 11 of 14 ACC foes. Tech remains fourth in the ACC and came into the game 26th in the nation in rebound margin (+6.9 per game, +3.7 in ACC games).
• Tech had more assists (12) than turnovers (7) for the 11th time in 14 ACC games. The Jackets are 38th nationally in that category (+1.3 per game both in ACC games and in all games) after finishing the 2014-15 season 244th. Tech is 12-7 this season when it has more assists than turnovers.
• Tech’s four post players accounted for 29 of its 63 points, hitting 14-of-25 from the floor.
• Tech out-scored an opponent from the free throw line for only the second time in 14 ACC games (9-8). Tech has won the free throw battle only one other in ACC play, at NC State, hitting 29-of-34 from the line compared to 19-of-24 for NC State, and tied Wake Forest (13-13).

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
Marcus Georges-Hunt led Tech with 19 points, reaching double figures for the 22nd time in 27 games this season, 85th time in 121 career games. He is averaging 18.5 points and shooting 47.9 percent from the floor in ACC games.
• Georges-Hunt’s game-winning bucket was the third last-second shot to win a game in his career. He tipped in a miss at the buzzer as a freshman to lift Tech over No. 6 Miami in Coral Gables, and knocked down a three-pointer at the final horn (and was fouled) to win a home game over Boston College as a sophomore.
• Georges-Hunt matched his career high with seven assists against just one turnover (did the same against Duke). He is Tech’s leader in assist average (3.7) for ACC games.
• Georges-Hunt played all 40 minutes of the game, the first time a Tech player has done that since Jan. 2, 1999, when Jason Floyd played 40 minutes in a game at NC State. He has played 36, 38, 38 and 40 minutes in his last four games and is averaging 34.9 in ACC games.
Charles Mitchell (12 points, 6 rebounds) surpassed 1,000 career points and 900 career rebounds against Notre Dame. He now has 1,010 career points and 901 career boards. He reached double figures in points for the third time in his last four games and for the 16th time this season.
Nick Jacobs notched double figures in rebounds for just the second time this season. He had 10 rebounds along with 16 points against Louisville on Jan. 23.
Adam Smith scored only nine points but made a pair of threes, including one with 50 seconds remaining that brought Tech within 62-61.
• Smith has made at least one in 95 of 105 games in his career for a total of 241. His career total would rank sixth all-time Georgia Tech had he played his entire career here.
• In 27 games, Smith has made more three-pointers (78) than Tech’s leader in each of the last seven seasons. They are the most since Anthony Morrow accumulated 81 (in 32 games) in the 2007-08 season.
Ben Lammers, “The Laminator,” had another solid game off the bench with six points (3-3 FG), three rebounds and a blocked shot in 12 minutes..
