THE FLATS – Georgia Tech men’s cross country senior Nahom Solomon will don the White and Gold one more time, heading to Louisville to represent the Yellow Jackets in the NCAA National Championships on Saturday, Nov. 18.
The field consists of 31 qualifying teams – 18 automatic qualifiers and 13 at-large selections – with 38 runners who individually qualified for the event competing as well.
No stranger to the course at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer Park, Solomon ran there earlier this season in the ACC Championship, kicking to a career-best effort in a fourth-place finish.
An all-South Region honoree, Solomon has paced the Yellow Jackets at every meet that he’s competed in for the past two years. Coming off a team-leading seventh-place finish at the NCAA Regional Championship in Alabama, the senior has compiled three top-5 finishes and one sixth-place finish this season, as well as led Georgia Tech to three top-5 team finishes overall.
Named the ACC Cross Country Performer of the Week after his first-place finish at the Jacksonville Open in which the Yellow Jackets also took home the title with an impressive 15 points in the 5K race.
The men’s race is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Live broadcast of the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championship will be available with a subscription on FloTrack. Live results will be available on NCAA.com.
