THE FLATS – Since the Georgia Tech softball team was unable to make it to the Hillenbrand Invitational in Tucson, Ariz. due to weather issues, the Yellow Jackets (2-1) have joined Georgia State’s Panther Invitational as the sixth team and second host site. Tech will host six games, three on Saturday and three on Sunday.
The Jackets welcome Bowling Green State, ETSU, Indiana and UT-Martin to Mewborn Field for the tournament. As always, admission is free and parking is available in the McCamish Lot. Fans can follow the action on Gametracker via links available in the Panther Invitational Central above.

The Georgia Tech softball team (2-1) won its season-opening series against Missouri State. Senior Ashley Thomas led Georgia Tech with a .556 (5-for-9) batting average and two home runs. Junior pitcher Kylie Kleinschmidt threw her first career complete game shutout in the season opener as the Jackets defeated the Bears, 3-0.
