ATLANTA – With spring practice going full speed ahead, the Georgia Tech Softball Team took a few minutes to tour its new stadium. This was the first time most of the team had a chance to check out their new digs since October, and they were not disappointed.

With the home opener set for March 10 against Tennessee-Martin, things are coming along nicely at the new facility centrally-located at the corner of 8th and Fowler Streets in the heart of campus.

Most of the inside work is done and the Jackets will begin practicing on their new field in the next week or so. The indoor batting facility is nearly completed, while work continues on the bullpen areas and in the dugouts.

Outside the stadium, work continues on the landscaping, a stone wall which will surround the facilities and walk-ways coming up to the field from street level.

Last week, the light test was performed and this field will provide some breath-taking views of the surrounding skyline. Click here to view photos from the first night the lights were turned on or here to see a progression of photo galleries since the ground-breaking last April.
