Hey all you Tech fans from one of its newest alumni!!!
So I never realized what it’s like to have your 15 minutes of fame until I got home to LaGrange, Ga. after our season ended. So many people came up to me and said they saw me on ESPN, either during our games against Washington or on SportsCenter. I’m not going to lie; it’s pretty cool having people come up to you saying “I saw you on TV.” Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be on ESPN let alone on SportsCenter’s Top Ten Plays of the Day/Weekend.
Well, some of you who got a chance to watch our games on ESPN against Washington may have heard the commentators mention that I was planning on chopping my very long hair and donating it to Locks of Love. Well I did just that a couple of weeks ago. This is actually my third time donating my hair to the very honorable organization. It’s really exciting knowing that my hair can be used for such a good cause. Caroline Hilton (three times), Coach Perkins (once) and Katie Perkins (Coach Perkins’ daughter — once) have all donated their hair in the past as well. If you would like more information on Locks of Love or would be interested in donating your own hair, visit http://www.locksoflove.org/index.html.
Even though I’ve turned my Tech uniform in, I will always be a proud Yellow Jacket! It’s definitely an honor to have such a prestigious degree and to always be able to represent Georgia Tech! Hope to see you all soon; I may not be in a uniform but I will definitely be one of the biggest fans!
Hope everyone had a great 4th of July!!!
