THE FLATS — Georgia Tech softball hosts NC State this weekend, Friday-Sunday, March 16-18 for the first Atlantic Coast Conference series at Mewborn this season. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. on Friday, 1 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. on Sunday.
Week five recap:
The Jackets opened Atlantic Coast Conference action last weekend in Charlottesville, playing a three-game series against Virginia. Tech won all three games to open conference play with a series sweep for the first time since 2011. The Jackets put up a total of 19 runs during the fifth innings through the series. Tech also took its fourth run-rule victory of the season with an 18-9 (5) decision over the Cavaliers on Saturday, to match its total from all of last season.
On Wednesday, the Jackets fell to No. 12 Alabama, holding the Crimson Tide to just three runs in the 3-1 loss.
The Yellow Jackets lead the all-time series with the Wolfpack 28-16. NC State took the series 2-1 last season on The Flats. The Jackets pocketed game one 7-6 in 10 innings. The Wolfpack took the final two games to take the series.
This weekend the Yellow Jackets will be wearing yellow laces in support of pediatric cancer through Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer. For more information, click here.
Due to other events on campus, fans are able to park in Family Housing on Friday and Saturday. McCamish lots will be open to fans on Sunday.
