THE FLATS – Returning from a successful road trip, Georgia Tech softball hosts Kennesaw State on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at Mewborn Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
With a 6-6 record, Tech is .500 for the first time since 2014 after winning four of five on the road last weekend in Buies Creek, N.C. Two of the Jackets’ wins last weekend were run-rule victories, a 13-4 win over Fairfield in five and an 8-0 decision over Campbell in six. The White and Gold blasted out eight home runs over the weekend, four off the bat of junior Katie Krzus. The Jackets rank third in the ACC in home runs per game and 21st in the nation.
Wednesday marks the 24th meeting between the programs, dating back to 1992. The Jackets lead the all-time series 16-7, taking the last four meetings. In 2017, the two teams battled through 12 innings before Tech took the 2-1 victory off an RBI single from then-freshman Crosby Huckabay.
