Softball Begins Fall Season With Four Games This Weekend At Mewborn Field

Sept. 18, 2009

ATLANTA – It seems like just yesterday that the Georgia Tech Softball team was hosting Washington in the NCAA Super Regional at Mewborn Field. Well now that the new school year has begun, the 2009-10 Yellow Jackets begin their quest for an ACC Championship repeat with the “fall ball” part of their schedule.

Tech will host four games at Mewborn Field this weekend. Saturday’s slate features Georgia Perimeter College for a doubleheader at 11 a.m., while Georgia State heads cross town Sunday for a doubleheader at 1 p.m.

Head Coach Sharon Perkins begins her fourth season at the helm of the Yellow Jackets just a week after being inducted into her alma maters, Nicholls State, Athletic Hall of Fame. Check out this video as Perkins talks about the induction ceremony and previews the upcoming fall season.
