Snoddy Highlights Day Two At Vanderbilt Invite

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Broderick Snoddy won the 60 and 200 meters to highlight the final day of competition for the Georgia Tech track and field team Saturday at the Vanderbilt Invitational.

Snoddy set a new facility record and tied his personal -best time of 21.23 to take first in the 200 meters. He won the 60-meter dash, improving his preliminary second-place time of 6.87 to 6.71 to win in the finals.

Also on the track, Spencer Allen tied for eighth in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.14.

Morgan Jackson took 14th of 33 competitors in the mile run with a time of 5:03.31. On the men’s side, Jeremy Greenwald set a new personal-best time of 4:03.58 to place third in the mile.

Zack Fanelty logged a season-best time of 1:50.79 for third place in the 800 meters. Brandon Lasater followed right behind in fourth place with a time of 1:51.37.

In the field events, Julienne McKee finished third in the triple jump, 12.60m (41-04.25). Carissa Tipler and Jasmine Bush finished third and fourth, respectively in their flight and 12th and 14th, respectively overall. Tipler leaped to a distance of 11.64m (38-02.25) and Bush jumped to a season-best 11.61m (38-01.25) mark.

In the final events of the day, the foursome of Christina Pensock, Ama Larbi, Malin Trollsas and Jazmyne Taylor took fifth in the women’s 4×400-meter relay with a time of 3:52.03. Alexander Reese, Julian Darden, Zack Fanelty and Cole Jackob improved the team’s 4×400-meter relay time this season from 3:27.21 to 3:22.18 to take eighth in the event. A “B” group ran by Rockne Burns, Nat Estes, Jeremy Greenwald and Nico Netzler followed in ninth place, crossing the line in a time of3:24.74.

The Jackets are back in action Feb. 7-8 at the Samford Invite in Birmingham, Ala.
