“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will be the feature presentation Friday night, July 18, in the second and final edition of Georgia Tech’s “Dodd After Dark” summer movie series. The film will be followed by a fireworks display at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Admission is free.
The field tunnel on the north end of the stadium will open Friday evening at 7 p.m. for 2014 football season ticket holders, and the general public will be admitted beginning at 7:30 p.m. The movie begins at 8 p.m. Patrons can sit on the field, subject to some restrictions, and in the club section. Limited concession snacks will be available, including popcorn, candy, bottled water and Coca-Cola products.
Free parking is available to attendees in Peters Parking Deck, as well as the lots at McCamish Pavilion and O’Keefe Gym. Non-metered street parking is also available after 5 p.m.
In “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and battles a new threat from old history: the Soviet agent known as the Winter Soldier. The film has been deemed a critical and financial success, having grossed more than $712 million worldwide. The DVD release date is set for September 9, 2014.
More than 500 attended last Friday’s session, which featured “Muppets Most Wanted.”
