ACC Baseball Championship Central | ACC Championship Tickets
THE FLATS – The Atlantic Coast Conference has announced the pairings and game times for the 2013 ACC Baseball Championship, and Georgia Tech begins defense of 2012 title on Wednesday, May 22 versus Florida State at 11 a.m. The Durham Bulls Athletic Park is the site of the year’s championship.
The Yellow Jackets (33-23, 15-15) are the No. 7-seed and are in Pool B with No. 2 Florida State, No. 3 Virginia and No. 6 Virginia Tech. Pool A includes No. 1 North Carolina, No. 4 NC State, No. 5 Clemson and No. 8 Miami.
For the second consecutive year, the Jackets and the Seminoles will open ACC Championship at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Game 2 for Tech is Thursday versus Virginia at 11 a.m., and the Jackets wrap up pool play on Friday versus Virginia Tech at 3 p.m. Tech went 1-2 versus the Noles this year, and won the series versus both the Cavaliers and Hokies.
All 12 pool-play games air on the Regional Sports Networks and ESPN3.
The two teams with the best records in pool play meet in Sunday’s championship game at 1 p.m. on ESPN2.
En route to last year’s ACC title, the eighth-seeded Yellow Jackets went 3-0 in pool play, defeating FSU, Virginia and Clemson, before taking down Miami, 8-5, in the 2012 ACC Championship Game. It was Tech’s eighth ACC title, and the Yellow Jackets became the first ACC team to win as an eighth-seed.
