Remainder of BC-Tech Baseball Series Cancelled

March 15, 2009

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech’s baseball doubleheader against Boston College has been cancelled due to rain and field conditions at Russ Chandler Stadium.

The two teams were originally scheduled to play a three-game series against the Eagles, and were forced to move Friday’s game up by 2.5 hours to begin before the storms hit the Atlanta area. Tech edged the Eagles, 5-4, in that game.

Saturday’s contest was postponed to Sunday due to the rain, and the two teams waited around Russ Chandler Stadium for nearly five hours before deciding to call the remaining games.

Georgia Tech is scheduled to face Kennesaw State in Kennesaw Tuesday before hosting the Owls for the final time this season Wednesday evening. The Jackets will then make their first weekend road trip when they travel to Blacksburg to face Virginia Tech next weekend.
